VFX | Spark

I was inspired by New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe | Link to reference: https://youtu.be/0LbHBMtHUw0?t=26

For this project, I started with the fact that I wanted something similar to what we see in the video when Mario stepped on the flower. That's how I built little by little this system in one day of work.

Most of the materials are generated by the nodes in the Editor and I just apply what I learned based on this video: https://youtu.be/rVWfS_bhltc?t=2

The only one that needed a texture made by hand was the Spark and it was done in Photoshop with the shape tool (Ellipse and Rectangle) and based on a lot of images you can find on the web like this:

I made the texture (Spark) in Photoshop using vectors in the shape of ellipse and square to do the mask and the lines and I added some blur. The other materials were made with nodes following what I learned when I did my Math Shapes exercise.

I used one of the materials I did in my Math Shapes Exercise (M_Rays_01) to create the Rays_01_MI01. I simply modified some parameters to get fewer rays. For the ring, I simply generated it with the nodes in the Editor.
