For this project, I started with the fact that I wanted something similar to what we see in the video when Mario stepped on the flower. That's how I built little by little this system in one day of work.
Most of the materials are generated by the nodes in the Editor and I just apply what I learned based on this video: https://youtu.be/rVWfS_bhltc?t=2

The only one that needed a texture made by hand was the Spark and it was done in Photoshop with the shape tool (Ellipse and Rectangle) and based on a lot of images you can find on the web like this:
